"Win Sky Stream for a year" terms and conditions

1.1 By entering the Competition, the participant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, this set of terms and conditions shall override any general competition terms and conditions on our website.

1.2 The Competition is open to entrants 18 years of age or over and resident in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, except:

  1. employees of the Company;

  2. employees of agents or suppliers of the Company, who are professionally connected with the Competition or its administration; or

  3. members of their immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

1.3 The online competition "Win Sky Stream for a year" (the 'Competition') is offered by the British Olympic Association, (‘the Company') whose registered address is: 101 New Cavendish St, London W1W 6XH. The Prize will be provided by Sky, who are the delivery partner for the Company for the Competition.

1.4 Only one entry per email address is permitted and subsequent or multiple entries shall not be valid. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. The winner shall be the named respondent on the randomly selected winning submission. Competition entries that are automatically generated by computer, completed by third parties or in bulk will not be accepted.

1.5 Competition Period: Entries for the contest will be accepted until the time outlined on our competition page.

1.6 There is one Prize package to be won (the "Prize") and there will be only one winner. The Prize includes the following: 1 x Sky Stream puck with a Sky Ultimate TV subscription (consisting of Sky Entertainment and Netflix basic) Sky Sports & Sky Cinema subscriptions for 12 months. The Prize will be subject to the Prize Conditions (as defined in clause 1.7).

1.7 The following terms shall apply to the Prize (the “Prize Conditions”)

a) All services on Sky Stream are streamed via broadband, a minimum download speed of 35Mbps is required to use the Prize in full.

b) Only one Sky TV subscription can be provided at an address. If the winner is an existing Sky TV customer and has Sky Glass, Sky Q or Sky+, they will need to cancel any existing Sky TV subscription in order to benefit from the new Sky TV subscription at no cost. We will bill the winner for their existing Sky TV subscription until the new Sky Stream TV subscription is activated. Sky Q customers will need to send back their Sky Q boxes within 60 days of receiving your Sky Stream puck otherwise they may be charged a non returns charge. Third party subscriptions not paid for via Sky but viewed on Sky Glass, Sky Q or Sky + will not be automatically viewable on your Sky Stream puck – you will have to log back in. Recordings on Sky Glass, Sky Q or Sky+ will not automatically transfer. If winners have Disney+ or Spotify via Sky, these will not automatically transfer to Sky Stream and winners will need to sign up directly to each via Apps Marketplace on Sky Stream.

c) For 12 months, the winner will get their Sky TV subscription(s), via their Sky Stream Puck for no charge. Sky Ultimate TV is provided on a monthly rolling contract and can be cancelled at any time on 31 days’ notice. Ending your Sky Ultimate TV subscription will end your offer period. After your 12 month offer period, all Sky TV subscriptions will become chargeable at their then standard price, unless you change or cancel your package, giving Sky at least 31 days’ notice. Standard subscription prices may change. Please refer to www.sky.com for current pricing.

d) The Prize does not include:

i. A broadband subscription. All content via your Sky Stream pucks is streamed so you must have broadband download speeds of at least 35Mpbs to use all the elements of this Prize;

ii. Sky Box Office, Sky Store purchases/rentals, Stand-alone Premium Channels, or pay-per-view services and events all of which if offered via Sky Stream will be chargeable at the current standard price.

e) Prices, programmes/channels are subject to change.

f) If you do not activate within 14 days of receiving your Sky Stream pucks, we will automatically activate it for you and your Sky TV subscriptions will start from activation.

g) Winners must redeem the Prize within a year. If a winner does not redeem his/her Prize within 12 months from the date of winning, this could result in loss of the Prize. If the winner has a previous uncleared debt with Sky the winner will not be able to take up the Prize until this debt has been fully cleared.

h) There is no cash alternative to the Prize or any element thereof and unless agreed otherwise in writing the Prize is non-refundable and non-transferable.

i) Sky reserves the right to refuse or withdraw the Prize if a winner or a party authorised by the winner to act on their behalf, threatens or abuses a Staff employee or otherwise conducts themselves in a manner that Sky reasonably regards as inappropriate, offensive or unlawful.

j) Prize winner(s) will be loaned the Sky Stream puck at no cost. The Sky Stream puck will need to be returned to Sky within 60 days of the winner leaving Sky TV, otherwise the winner may be charged a non-returns charge.

k) The winner will need to set up a Sky account either online at sky.com or via the MySky app in order to manage their account. Email address required for account login and for Sky to keep in touch about the service.

l) Netflix basic is included as part of the Sky Ultimate TV subscription and allows viewing in one screen in SD. Netflix terms of use apply.

1.7 The Company and any third parties involved with the delivery of the Prize reserve the right to apply alterations to the Prize details where necessary.

1.8 The Company and any third parties involved with the delivery of the Prize accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the Prize that are not expressly included in clause 1.6 above.

1.9 To enter the competition: no purchase is necessary; however, internet access and access to the Team GB app (the ‘Site’) are required.

1.10 The Prize winner will be chosen at random (by a computer process that produces verifiably random results) and contacted by a representative from the Company via the email address/telephone number provided on entry within 48 hours of the competition closing date, which will be listed on our competition page.

1.11 In order to receive the Prize, the winner must respond within 48 hours of initial contact.

1.12 If the Prize winner fails to respond within 48 hours of notification, the Prize will be forfeited and an alternative Prize winner(s) will be contacted.

1.13 Proof of submission shall not be proof of receipt. Entries that are incomplete, incorrectly filled in, illegal, illegible, in the incorrect format or fraudulent or those not received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed invalid and not accepted. The Company does not accept any responsibility for technical failures which prevent an entrant from submitting an entry and no responsibility will be accepted by the Company for entries lost, corrupted or delayed in transmission.

1.14 The Prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable and no cash alternatives will be offered. The Prize cannot be refunded.

1.15 The Company reserves the right to modify, cancel, extend or discontinue the Competition rules or any part thereof at any time without prior notification.

1.16 The Company accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Competition or accepting the Prize.

1.17 The Company further disclaims any liability for any injury or damage to the individuals associated with this Prize save for where (i) death or personal injury is caused by negligence; (ii) such liability arises from fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) for any other reason or by any cause which cannot be excluded by law.

1.18 The Company will not take any responsibility for an individual’s behaviour and any consequences associated with an individual’s actions during the period of the Prize.

1.19 The Company shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations relating to this Prize where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, the COVID-19 pandemic or connected events, weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, industrial dispute, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

1.20 By entering this Competition, you will be given the opportunity to opt-in to receive information and offers from the Company. If you do opt-in to such communications, you will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe at any time.

1.21 By entering the Competition, the Prize winner gives consent for their name, contact number and address to be passed to any necessary third-party providers for delivery of the Prize. Save for the exception above and unless you have opted-in to receive future marketing communications from the Company, your personal data will not be passed to any third party unless required to do so by law or an appropriate regulatory authority.

1.22 By entering the Competition, entrants are sending their personal information to the Company who will at all times process an entrant’s personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

1.23 The Company’s decision is final in every situation and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.

1.24 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Company may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the Competition.

1.25 The Company reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

1.26 These Terms and Conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1.27 The Company will assume (and by entering the Competition the Entrant will warrant that) that any Entrant shall have legal capacity to enter into the agreement set out in these Terms and Conditions (i.e. that each Entrant is of sufficient age and mental capacity and are otherwise entitled to be legally bound in contract).

1.28 The Company must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Company will send the surname and county of residence of the winner to anyone who emails BOA@TeamGB.com or writes to 101 New Cavendish St, London W1W 6XH (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date of the Competition. If you object to any or all of your surname or county of residence being published or made available, or request that the amount of information published or made available be reduced, please contact the Company at BOA@TeamGB.com. In such circumstances, the Company must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
