Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Lauren Williams will no longer compete at the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games after suffering a hamstring injury.
She is replaced in taekwondo’s -67kg category by Chloe Williams, marking the 20-year-old’s debut performance for Team GB after her recent transition to the senior circuit.
In rugby sevens, James Farndale and Femi Sofolarin complete the men’s squad after the withdrawal of Api Bavadra and Jordan Edmunds, both due to injuries. Both Farndale and Solofarin make their Team GB debut following the conclusion of the first World Series to feature a GB Sevens side.
In total, 177 athletes will represent Team GB across 18 Olympic disciplines at the European Games. The Opening Ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday 21 June at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium, with the Closing Ceremony to return at the same venue on Sunday 2 July after 12 days of competition.
